Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is quickly becoming the Barry Sanders of postgame speeches.
And his latest celebration after Detroit’s 31-18 win over the New York Giants on Sunday served as a bit of catharsis for a team that was written off three weeks ago.
“We’re paying some pretty clean, physical football man,” Campbell said. “…We were efficient; that’s the way to win, man. Now you’re figuring it out. Now we’re figuring it out. That’s three (straight wins).”

Sunday’s win was Detroit’s third in a row — the team’s longest win streak since Campbell took over as head coach in 2021 — which vaulted the Lions to second in the NFC North and put them just a game and a half out of the final wild-card spot.
It was also just the third loss of the year for the upstart Giants, who are 7-3 and tied for second in the NFC West, and it was the first time an opponent scored 30 points on New York’s defense this year.
